Shoreline Entertainment checks into Geography Club
Morris Ruskin’s Los Angeles-based production and sales company has picked up world sales rights to Huffington Pictures’ coming-of-age drama.
Gary Entin directed the story from a screenplay that his brother Edmund Entin adapted from Brent Hartinger’s bestseller of the same name.
Geography Club centres on a clique of high school students who form a secret after-school club to share their feelings as they navigate adolescence.
The ensemble cast includes Cameron Deane Stewart, Justin Deeley, Andrew Caldwell, Allie Gonino, Meaghan Martin, Ally Maki and Nikki Blonsky, Marin Hinkle, Ana Gasteyer and Scott Bakula.
Michael Huffington and Anthony Bretti produced while Frederick Levy and Bryan Leder served as executive producers.
Huffington and Eric Thompson negotiated the deal with Shoreline’s Sam Eigen and Melody Djavadi.
“This film is a clever, feel-good, coming-of-age story with an important social message” said Shoreline CEO Ruskin. “Cameron Deane Stewart delivers an outstanding performance along with a magnificent supporting cast.”
“We are delighted that Shoreline saw the worldwide appeal of Geography Club and look forward to working closely with them to bring this film to the widest possible audience” said Huffington.
